Ian Rutkofsky, M.D.

Dr. Ian Rutkofsky was voted Chief Resident for two consecutive years during his residency training. Dr. Rutkofsky is the author and editor of two psychiatry textbooks, including the Springer publication "Dissociative Identity Disorder: Treatment and Management" and "Psychiatric Disorders in the Prison Population in the United States," also published by Springer. Additionally, Dr. Rutkofsky trained with celebrity physicians and New York Times bestselling authors Dr. Andrew Weil in Integrative Medicine and Dr. Daniel Amen in Integrative Psychiatry. Dr. Rutkofsky holds multiple certifications, including a Certified Professional Fitness Trainer from the Cooper Institute and a certificate in Humanitarian Response to Conflict and Disaster from the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative.

Dr. Rutkofsky has undergone extensive training beginning with his undergraduate and post baccelaurate studies from the University of Texas in Richardson, Texas in 2011. Dr. Ian Rutkofsky achieved his Doctor of Medicine from the International American University College of Medicine in Vieux Fort in St. Lucia. He completed his first year of residency at Mercer University in Macon, GA in June of 2019. He completed his second year of residency as a Psychiatry Resident at HCA-Aventura Hospital and Medical Center, Aventura, FL in June of 2020. In 2022, Dr. Rutkofsky accomplished his third and fourth year of residency as Chief Psychiatry Resident at HCA-Aventura Hospital and Medical Center, Aventura, FL. His long tenure at the HCA-Aventura Hospital and Medical Center has provided Dr. Rutkofsky with a solid foundation of learning and experience within psychiatry.

Dr. Rutkofsky shares how he enjoys researching, teaching, and writing, and has published over forty manuscripts across various medical fields, along with multiple book chapters. Additionally, Dr. Rutkofsky serves as faculty and Professor of Medical Research at the California Institute of Behavioral Neurosciences & Psychology, where he has the ability to educate medical doctors on empirical research methods.
