Nancy Montier, LCPC
Nancy Montier is a Maryland Board approved supervisor for licensed graduate counselors and drug treatment professionals seeking certification or licensure. Nancy is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, and holds a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University (2013) and a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from Howard University (1991).
Over the years, Nancy has served in various impactful roles, including working as a therapist with the Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Program, where she conducted mental health assessments for youth referred due to emotional challenges or involvement with the legal system.
Most recently, Nancy served as the Clinical Manager at Adventist Healthcare, overseeing the Substance Use Treatment Program. In this role, Nancy provided leadership and clinical oversight to a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care to individuals navigating recovery.
As a licensed therapist with experience in substance use treatment and trauma treatment, Nancy offers a comprehensive range of evidence-based services for clients dealing with anxiety and depression; One-on-one sessions focused on identifying thought patterns, emotional triggers, and behavior cycles contributing to anxiety and/or depression and help clients learn about the biological and psychological aspects of anxiety and depression. Nancy helps clients understand how symptoms manifest and how to manage them through daily practices. For clients whose anxiety or depression is linked to unresolved trauma, she uses a sensitive, non-retraumatizing approach while introducing safe tools for emotional processing and stabilization. Also, for clients dealing with anxiety/depression and substance misuse, Ms. Montier provides relapse prevention, stress management, and emotional regulation strategies.
In addition to her clinical work, Nancy is a leader at my local Christian church and she chooses to integrate spiritual values into the healing process for clients who desire a faith-based approach. Ms. Montier is passionate about supporting others in their mental, emotional, and spiritual growth. Outside of the therapy room, Nancy enjoys playing tennis, traveling to the world’s most beautiful beaches, and engaging with community organizers on causes she deeply cares about. Whether serving her community, exploring nature, or walking alongside clients on their healing journey, Nancy brings heart, purpose, and a strong sense of connection to everything she does.
