Daniel Bell, LGSW, earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 2017 and later completed his Master of Social Work there in 2022. In addition to his Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) and Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) credentials, he holds a Google Professional IT Certificate and is currently pursuing his CompTIA A+ certification. Originally from Washington, DC, he developed a passion for helping individuals facing physical and mental health challenges. After graduating, he served with AmeriCorps in New Orleans and Houston, supporting disaster recovery efforts following a tornado and Hurricane Harvey. He later worked in education as a special education teacher in New Orleans and as an assistant teacher in Washington, DC.
During graduate school, he completed an evidence-based practice fellowship at the Addiction Center of Broome County, where he facilitated group therapy, conducted intakes, provided individual therapy for substance use disorders, and contributed to a program analysis of the county’s needle exchange initiative. After earning his MSW, he worked at the Psychiatric Institute of Washington, supporting patients with a wide range of mental health needs across diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. In 2024, he joined the DC Child and Family Services Agency, where he worked on child welfare cases involving removals and adoptions while collaborating with families, attorneys, and community stakeholders to promote child safety and family well-being.
