Jena Bath, PMHNP-BC, began her professional journey with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice (2001–2008) and a Master of Science in Forensic Psychology (2008–2010), which led her to work for the Virginia Department of Corrections as a Psychology Associate, conducting mental health and risk assessments on adult male offenders. Professional Background and Expertise

I began my professional journey with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice (2001–2008) and a Master of Science in Forensic Psychology (2008–2010), which led me to work for the Virginia Department of Corrections as a Psychology Associate, conducting mental health and risk assessments on adult male offenders. This experience strengthened my skills in clinical assessment, risk evaluation, and working with challenging populations, and inspired my interest in direct patient care in psychiatry.

I then transitioned into nursing, earning an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (2019–2021, cum laude), a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (2022–2023, summa cum laude), and most recently a Master of Science in Nursing (2023–2025) with a 3.84 GPA. My clinical experience includes inpatient acute psychiatric assessment and crisis intervention with adults—including individuals experiencing homelessness—as well as patients across the lifespan. I have cared for individuals with depression, anxiety, psychosis, substance use disorders, and borderline personality disorder, and have primarily implemented cognitive-behavioral strategies in psychotherapy.

Combining my background in forensic psychology with advanced nursing education allows me to provide comprehensive, evidence-based, and compassionate psychiatric care to diverse populations.
