About
Having witnessed the resilience of children's minds through various professional and personal life experiences, Dr. Chon especially loves to work with child and adolescent patients. He wishes to dedicate his lifelong career to helping kids cultivate healthy minds. Dr. Chon nurtures a patient relationship that is built on trust and appreciates patients who are willing to accept treatment to improve their mental health and are compliant with treatment, including psychotherapy and psychopharmacology.
Dr. Chon is a general psychiatrist that sees patients from 4 years old to 40 years old. He specializes in treating patients with depression, mood/bipolar disorder, anxiety, DMDD, OCD, ADHD, IED, ODD, autism, learning disorders, intellectual developmental disorder, mild eating disorders, and personality disorders. Dr. Chon treats patients based on the patient/client-centered approach to enable patients to have their say in their treatment.
Dr. Chon has a passion for treating the younger population because his philosophy is treating patients when they are younger can possibly prevent their illness from worsening or other disorders from forming. He always believes psychiatric disorders are just like any medical disorders; you would want to treat stage 1 cancer versus stage 4 cancer when the prognosis is lower.

With his early interest in the human mind, Dr. Chon earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Florida and earned his medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine.
