Andreia brings a wealth of professional credentials and accolades to her practice. She is one of only two Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners in Fairfax County certified as a pre-screener (CPC) by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, a distinction that underscores her specialized expertise. In this capacity, Andreia serves with the Fairfax County Community Services Board in the Emergency Services Department, where she collaborates with law enforcement and hospital medical teams to evaluate individuals experiencing psychiatric crises, provide crisis stabilization, and recommend appropriate psychiatric treatment interventions.

Prior to her role with Fairfax County CSB, Andreia worked as an inpatient psychiatric nurse practitioner at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center and MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Maryland. There, she assessed, diagnosed, and treated a wide array of complex mental health conditions. Her tenure included specialized training and mentorship in psychiatric consultation-liaison services, enabling her to provide mental health evaluations and treatment for patients with concurrent medical, obstetric, or surgical needs.

In addition, Andreia has an extensive background in forensic nursing. For more than three years, she served as a Forensic Nurse Examiner at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus, where she performed adult and pediatric sexual assault examinations, conducted forensic evaluations for domestic violence and strangulation cases, and provided expert testimony in court proceedings.
