How Does NeuroStar TMS Therapy Treat Your Condition?

NeuroStar TMS therapy addresses a few mental health conditions by targeting specific regions of your brain with an electromagnetic field. These magnetic pulses stimulate targeted areas of the brain associated with mood regulation, supporting improved neural activity over time.. This stimulation helps mitigate the symptoms of major depressive disorder (MDD), anxious depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), providing relief and control over your thoughts and feelings. This non-invasive, FDA-cleared technique allows our clinicians to help you get results over the course of a typical six- to seven-week treatment regimen.

What NeuroStar TMS Therapy Can Treat

NeuroStar TMS therapy at our Richmond location can help treat several mental health conditions, including:

MDD and Anxious Depression

Major depressive disorder (MDD) can affect many aspects of your life, including your energy levels, emotions, and interest in activities you usually enjoy. Whether caused by genetics or a traumatic experience, working through MDD can be difficult. You may worry that you are overthinking your symptoms, attributing them to a general feeling of sadness rather than considering that you may have depression. While therapy and medication can help alleviate these symptoms, you may not want to manage the possible side effects of medication. NeuroStar TMS therapy may be an important option when seeking an effective treatment regimen for you.

NeuroStar can also address anxious depression, which includes the typical symptoms of depression but with symptoms of anxiety that can produce further complications for people.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

OCD is a mental health concern that manifests as obsessions (repeated unwanted thoughts) and compulsions (a need to do repetitive behaviors). Medication and therapy are useful resources in managing your OCD symptoms, but they may not address all the symptoms you experience. You could find relief from these life-altering symptoms by targeting specific regions of your brain with NeuroStar TMS therapy.
