Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) has become a beacon of hope for individuals who are dealing with persistent depression, anxious depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. The Science Behind NeuroStar Advanced TMS

NeuroStar TMS therapy is a non-invasive and drug-free procedure that is cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). During a TMS session, the device emits magnetic pulses to stimulate the parts of your brain associated with regulating your mood. In patients with depression and other mood disorders, these regions tend to show underactivity. The magnetic pulses stimulate your neurons, leading to an increase in your brain activity. This, in turn, could help you stabilize your mood and break away from persistent thoughts.

NeuroStar Advanced TMS therapy differentiates itself by elevating this basic idea and using advanced targeting and software algorithms that ensure consistent and precise magnetic field strength. Because NeuroStar is FDA-cleared for a variety of mental health conditions, its safety and efficacy come from extensive research. It is especially beneficial if you have tried multiple antidepressants without success or seek a non-invasive treatment approach.

Personalized Care With Advanced Mapping

One of the distinguishing features of NeuroStar TMS is the personalized mapping it offers. During your first session, your provider will identify the exact treatment location, factoring in your head shape and unique brain anatomy. By personalizing this mapping, NeuroStar ensures the magnetic pulses reach the correct regions consistently. This precise alignment reduces the likelihood of common side effects and helps you experience the therapy’s benefits more quickly. The mapping session usually lasts about half an hour.

Sessions after your first mapping typically last about 18 minutes each. A common neurostimulation schedule includes five sessions per week for seven weeks.

Comfort and Convenience of NeuroStar TMS

Another reason NeuroStar TMS is different is in the comfort it provides during your daily sessions. You will sit in a comfortable chair, without any need for anesthesia or sedation. In fact, you can use the time to listen to music, read a book, or simply relax. After your treatment, you can resume daily activities as usual. Additionally, the immediate availability at our centers across the state means you do not have to wait weeks or months to access life-changing care.
