Neel Nene, MD, MBA, MS
Dr. Neel Nene is the Chief Executive Officer as well as the Chief Medical Officer of Bloom Health Centers. He completed General Psychiatry training at Albert Einstein-Maimonides Medical Center in New York, NY, with extensive addiction medicine training at NYU-Bellevue Hospital in New York, NY. He helped to develop the first psychiatric emergency room that serviced all of New York City. He was the president of the Brooklyn Psychiatric Society and contributed to developing ACT-Team Street/at-home resources for the seriously mentally ill. He completed a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship program at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center at Penn State University in Hershey, PA, where he served as Chief Fellow and led the graduate medical education committee for all physicians within the Penn State system.
Professional Background and Expertise
Dr. Nene remains board-certified through the ABPN. He also completed the Healthcare MBA program at The George Washington University with a focus on Marketing and Hospital Management. His clinical interests include inpatient psychiatry, neurodevelopmental disorders, and neuromodulation. He completed an ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy) Fellowship at Columbia University as well as TMS training at the Maastricht Brain Imaging Center in the Netherlands.
Professional Experience and Personal Life
Before joining Bloom Health Centers, Dr. Nene was the Chief Medical Officer of Child/Adolescent Mental Health programming for Dominion Hospital (HCA). He was also the Founder (along with his wife, Tahmina Nene, a psychotherapist) and Medical Director of Comprehensive Behavioral Health (CBH) in the greater Washington DC area. Throughout his career, Dr. Nene prides himself most on being a husband, a dad, and a son. In his off time, he enjoys coaching tennis and soccer and playing with his children.
