Lauren Wilson, MD

Lauren Wilson is a (board-eligible) Psychiatrist with Bloom Health Centers. Lauren Wilson received her Doctorate of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine in 2016. In 2021 Lauren completed her residency in General Psychiatry at LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA. Finally, in 2023, Dr. Wilson completed her fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Virginia Tech-Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA. Dr. Wilson is a proud member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the American Psychiatric Association, and the Psychiatric Society of Virginia.

Professional Background and Expertise

Dr. Wilson brings a deep commitment to compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care across all age groups.

Dr. Wilson completed her psychiatry residency at LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia, where she was honored with the “Resident Teacher of the Year” award, a recognition given by medical students during her internship year.  She further specialized in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry through a fellowship at Carilion-Virginia Tech in Roanoke, Virginia, completing her training in December 2023.

Since April 2024, Dr. Wilson has been practicing as an attending physician at Bloom, working in both inpatient and partial hospitalization settings at Dominion.  She sees patients across the lifespan and has additional training in adolescent eating disorders and adolescent substance use disorders.  Her clinical interests also include dissociative disorders and somatization disorders.  As per HCA, her excellence in the pursuit of medicine is second to none.

Originally from Tallahassee, Florida, Dr. Wilson has a passion for global experiences and education—she even spent a year teaching English in Martinique, French West Indies, after college.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, two sons, and two dogs.  Her favorite hobbies include water sports, hiking, and gardening.
