Dr. Thomas completed his residency at the State University of New York (SUNY) Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He also completed his Child and Adolescent Fellowship at SUNY Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He was named Chief Fellow of his fellowship class taking a more hands-on role in the administrative aspect of running an outpatient child mental health clinic. His clinical roles include working as an attending at one of New York State’s busiest psychiatric emergency departments in Buffalo, New York, inpatient attending at a state hospital working on the adolescent unit with kids from anywhere from 60 to 90 days if not longer, and as a psychiatric consultant to an outpatient pediatric clinic. Dr. Thomas is passionate about working with children and youth along with their families as they navigate the challenges of mental health especially those of the LGBTQIA+ communities as well as those of different ethnic communities. When Dr. Thomas is not working, he enjoys exploring his neighborhood as he is new to the DMV area, rooting for his Buffalo Bills, and traveling around the world.
