Spravato® Patient Journey
Discover the depression-free treatment path at Bloom.
Revolutionary Treatment for Depression & Mood Disorders
Spravato® (esketamine intranasal) is a prescription, FDA-approved nasal spray made up of the chemical esketamine, an anesthetic drug that is also used to treat depression at subanesthetic doses. It is administered in a Bloom Health Centers Spravato® Clinic. When used in conjunction with an oral antidepressant, Spravato® can provide symptom relief from patients with treatment-resistant depression, depression with suicidal thoughts, and certain mood disorders within hours of using it.
Step 1: Spravato® Assessment
Want to find out if Spravato® may be right for you? Fill in the Spravato® Assessment Form or call us at (667) 668-2566.
Currently, Spravato® treatment is primarily used for individuals with medication-resistant depression and certain mood disorders —which means that a patient has tried two or more medications and still suffers from symptoms. Taking this initial step will help us help you along your path to wellness.

Step 2: Intake Phone Screening
A Bloom Team Member will reach out to you to gather more information about your treatment history and your insurance coverage.
Our compassionate team will collaborate with you to determine care plan options that are tailored to suit your individual situation. Bloom can help you determine if you fit the criteria for Spravato® therapy.
Step 3: Virtual Spravato® Consultation
A Bloom Medical Director will meet with you to perform an in-depth review of your medical history and use their expertise to determine if you will be a good candidate for Spravato® esketamine therapy. If they determine that Spravato® may be an effective treatment option, they will provide you with a detailed overview of your customized Spravato® treatment plan. The Medical Director will discuss each phase of the treatment process and what results you can expect to see.
During this session, you will have the opportunity to decide for yourself if Spravato® is the appropriate choice for your personal situation. We encourage you to ask any questions that you may have. We want to give you honest answers that will provide you with confidence about trying Spravato® therapy to help you on your path to recovery from depression and anxiety. We do not have a one-size-fits-all approach to mental health care and Spravato® may not be right for you. The Medical Director will listen to you and can recommend other options, such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), further medication management, or psychotherapy.
Step 4: We Do The Paperwork
If we discover that you are an ideal candidate for Spravato®, we will do everything in our power to get you the help you need. We will treat your situation with the sense urgency it deserves. You have suffered for long enough.
We will do all of the heavy-lifting on your behalf to try to get approval from your insurance company. We will keep you informed throughout the entire process, so you know what we are doing to fight for you!
The Bloom Promise

We promise to provide you with complete transparency. We will act as your guide, give you detailed information, and answer your questions so you can determine the best solution for you! Our medical directors will serve as a direct support and resource throughout your entire treatment path at Bloom.
Spravato® esketamine therapy follows a clinical treatment process that initially involves frequent patient visits, 2 times per week, then tapers down in frequency throughout the course of your treatment.
You will be led into a private treatment room with soft light. You will sit in a reclining chair (much like a chair at a spa). During treatment, patients administer Spravato® esketamine nasal spray themselves under the supervision of a Bloom medical provider. Most of our patients say Spravato treatment feels very different than experiencing other intoxicating substances, like alcohol, but some do report feeling dissociation, dizziness, euphoria, or mild intoxication.
After administration, there is a two-hour observation period during which you can relax, listen to music, watch movies, or rest comfortably in your private treatment room. After the treatment, you will need someone to drive you home safely. It’s important to avoid doing anything hazardous such as driving, operating heavy machinery, or doing anything where you need to be completely alert until having a full night’s sleep. By the next day, you will most like be able to resume your normal activities without any restrictions.
While the medication is generally well-tolerated, patients may experience temporary sedation, increased blood pressure, and dissociation. These side effects are transient and non-life-threatening.
