Miriam Merin, MSW

Miriam Merin is an associate psychotherapist who recently received her masters in social work. When Miriam isn't seeing patients, she contributes to scholarship on education policy as a research fellow at the Johns Hopkins Institute for Education Policy. Miriam attended Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where she studied education history and policy and graduated with Magna cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa honors. She holds two master's degrees: one from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, where she studied higher education, and one from the Brown School at Washington University in Saint Louis, where she studied social work and graduated with Phi Alpha honors.

Professional Background and Expertise

Miriam also holds a clinical certificate in psychodynamic psychotherapy from Bryn Mawr College. In addition to her clinical work, Miriam is a Ph.D. candidate in counseling at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, where she studies the educational experiences of adult survivors of child sexual abuse.

Miriam primarily practices psychodynamic psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and young adults. Miriam's training in both education policy and social work has given her a keen interest in the intersection of mental health and education. She particularly enjoys working with patients navigating K12 and higher education.

In addition to English, Miriam can fluently speak Swiss-German.
