Professional Background and Expertise

Meet Alicia Marconi, a caring and dedicated psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, whom is excited to join Bloom Health Centers and expand mental health services across the Mid-Atlantic region. Alicia earned an undergraduate degree in psychology from the College of William and Mary (2007), followed by a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Marymount University (2013), and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from George Mason University (2024). Alicia provided case management for adults with severe mental illness from 2008 to 2010. Following nursing school, she worked as a critical care nurse for adults with a range of medical and neurological deficits (2013 to 2020). Additionally, Alicia has taught lab and simulation to undergraduate nursing students since 2017.

Alicia is an inclusive provider who uses a person-centered approach, working in partnership with her patients to develop and maintain their care plan. She offers medication management with supportive psychotherapy, drawing from multiple therapeutic approaches to best fit each person's needs. Alicia treats individuals with mood disorders, grief, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, supportive care for neurocognitive disorders, and opioid use disorder.

Alicia works hard to develop meaningful connections with her patients. She has a special interest in providing empathetic care and support to the older adult population and their families, especially those suffering with neurocognitive disorders (e.g., dementia).
