About

Katrina's journey to become a therapist has come full circle. She pursued social work wanting to be a therapist, but opportunities shifted after earning her MSW. The stops on her way back to my original destination include child welfare, medical social work, and inpatient psychiatric care. She developed an interest in integrated health and compassion fatigue. These experiences led her to pursue therapy again and she cannot imagine doing anything else.

Katrina encourages therapy because it is a unique relationship in which it’s not only acceptable but required, for one party (in this case the client) to be the sole focus without any expectation for reciprocation. She enjoys helping others navigate their emotions and behavior due to recent life changes. She listens and empathizes. Katrina loves helping clients utilize their strengths to allow for adjustments to the ever-changing world.

Katrina specializes in helping patients who are aged 17 years and up navigate trauma, depression, anxiety from chronic illness, chronic pain, and medical trauma. She has extensive experience with guiding patients through life transitions, such as college, divorce, and retirement.

Katrina earned her Master's degree in Social Work from Arizona State University in 2016. Prior to that, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 2013.
