About

Kalena Blackman is a therapist at Bloom Health Centers. She specializes in treating depression, anxiety, ADHD, and bipolar disorder, while also providing support to people experiencing major life transitions. Kalena believe that everyone has a voice, and everyone needs a space to allow their voice to be heard.

Kalena chose the field of mental health therapy because she not only enjoys understanding how people process their life experiences, but she finds purpose in helping individuals discover meaning in their day to day encounters. She has worked with a wide range of individuals such as adolescents and young adults experiencing major life transitions, to older adults processing grief, loss and trauma. Throughout her experience she has noticed that each individual has at least one thing in common, and that is they just want to be heard. Kalena's goal in this field is to allow each person to feel seen and give a platform to their voice.

Education & Experience

Kalena graduated from Salisbury University in 2018 with a Bachelors in Psychology and in Communication Arts. She then went on to earn a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Bowie State University in 2022.

Kalena is certified in peer recovery support, and received a certificate of completion in evidence based practice trainings.
