Janet Wilson

Jan has been in practice for over 35 years, honing her skills and growing her knowledge base as a psychotherapist. Her range of experience has been broad, including specialties in couples counseling, substance abuse, and a wide variety of other challenges individuals and families face. She has had an interest in mental health and a passion for helping people since at least my mid-teens. While most people enjoyed “beach reads” during summer break, at that time she would read books written by the experts in the field, eager to soak up as much information as possible. It has been a privilege to do this rewarding work, to have so many people trust her with their most private concerns, and to help them grow and change. She has also had the privilege of supervising the work of clinical interns and newly graduated master-level therapists to guide and teach them as they develop in this, their chosen field. Jan enjoys the arts – theater, museums, music, and dance. She likes jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles. She reads and continues to bring home books she intends to read, although she thinks she would need a few more lifetimes to read them all!  She enjoys cooking, knitting, and “adventures” with friends. Most of all, she loves her family, including the many members of extended family who live locally and those who are scattered across the U.S.
