About

Henna believes mental health care is a holistic treatment taking account each individual as unique, with their own needs and strengths. It is important to understand each patient on various levels, including their biology, personal life circumstances, and societal issues that surround them. Therefore, each patient deserves their own personalized treatment plan that is tailored to their needs in order to achieve growth and personal development.

To reach this point, Henna thinks it is important for each patient to have confidence in symptom improvement. While it may be difficult to do so, there is room for significant progress, and she has seen her clients improve their quality of life. Mental health and wellness is a journey that involves the foundation of trust and communication between the patient and clinician. With honesty, a collaborative effort, and a proper evaluation, Henna is able to recommend an evidence-based treatment that is deemed fit. Mental health care aims to guide patients to take control of their lives, and feel supported all while trying to remove the stigma of mental illness.

Henna wanted to choose a specialty within her career that involved a personal connection with her patients. She wanted to build a deep trust with her patients, especially during times of vulnerability. The field of psychiatry is a unique specialty where there is no algorithmic approach. It allows her to constantly learn about her patient by speaking to and connecting with them on a different level, in order to personalize a treatment plan for them.

A Little Bit About Me

"Outside of work, I am a proud wife and a mother to her 4-year old son and infant daughter. As a full-time working mom, I am quite often asked, “How do you do it all?” The truth is there is no right answer, but since I have experienced a portion of it all – work, school, motherhood – I simply enjoy the challenges of life."
